Shallow grave is a 1994 British crime thriller and directorial debut of Danny Boyle, now famous for his Oscar winning film Slumdog Millionaire. The story revolves around three friends, who live in an apartment with four bedrooms and are looking for a tenant for the fourth room. After many interviews they finalize on one man. But after the guy moves in, he disappears in the room for days. Out of curiosity the three friends open the door and discover he is dead and has left behind a huge bag of money. The story from here takes an interesting turn.
Bazaar
Bazaar (1982) directed by Sagar Sarhadi, starred Naseeruddin Shah, Farooq Shaikh, Smita Patil and Supriya Pathak. The film highlights the tragedy of young girls being sold by needy parents to affluent Indians in the Gulf. The story revolves around a couple who is in love (Farooq Shaikh and Supriya Pathak) but the girl’s parent’s get her engaged to an older rich man in the Gulf. The boy tries hard to convince the girl’s parents as well as her fiancé but it leads to consequences that change their life forever. The film has one of the best soundtracks. An outstanding performance by the entire cast, especially Supriya Pathak who won the Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actress for this movie in 1982.
Cinema Paradiso (1988)
Written and directed by Giuseppe Tornatore, this Italian film is narrated in flashback. It tells the story of the return of a successful film director, Salvatore, to his native Sicilian village for the funeral of his old friend Alfredo, who was the projectionist at the local "Cinema Paradiso".
Ultimately, Alfredo serves as a wise father figure to his young friend who only wishes the best to see him succeed, even if it means breaking his heart in the process.
The film explores issues of youth, coming of age, and reflections (in adulthood) about the past.
Chandni Bar
Directed by Madhur Bhandarkar, it depicts the gritty life of the Mumbai underworld, including prostitution and gun crime.
The film stars Tabu and Atul Kulkarni in lead roles. Along with Ananya Khare, Minakshi Sahani and Vishal Thakkar in supporting characters.
The film was a critically acclaimed hit. It is truly a master piece, a classic cult film that touches your heart.
La Vie en Rose

Marion Cotillard won an Academy Award for her performance, marking the first time an Oscar had been given for a French-language role.

My Comment:-
An enigmatic film filled with emotions, in spite of low technology era. It was a master piece. Leading lady Waheeda ji was stunning in the movie.
